Krull’s Optics Protection System (KOPS) wasn’t dreamed up in a boardroom—Donnie Krull is the founder of KOPS, a product born from experience, grit, and a rainy day in a tree stand.

A retired law enforcement officer with decades of service, Donnie knows the value of gear that performs under pressure. Whether on duty or in the woods, he’s always relied on tools that are simple, rugged, and ready when needed. That mindset carried into his passion for hunting, where one wet morning sparked an idea that would change how optics are protected in the field.

While sitting in his stand, glassing the area, Donnie improvised a lens cover using a cleaning cloth and his gloves to shield his binoculars from the rain. It worked—but it wasn’t ideal. That moment of frustration turned into inspiration, and soon after, the first prototype of KOPS was born.
